About Me

Welcome to my corner of the web, Scoolerisms.com

I’m Don Scooler, a “geezer” with more stories than I can count, and a life that’s been anything but dull. My journey started on the streets of New York, a tough beginning that taught me plenty. Then, the Air Force called, and before I knew it, 30 years had flown by, and I found myself a colonel. After hanging up my uniform, I wasn’t quite done. I spent another decade at Trident Technical College, passing on what I’d learned to the next generation. It’s been a ride, shaped by the resilience my mother instilled in me and my brother after we lost our dad early on.

These stories, these “Scoolerisms,” are my legacy, not just for my dear wife, Marjorie, our three kids, the five grandkids, and our precious great-grandchild, but for anyone who takes a moment to listen. It’s a mix of the harrowing, the humorous, and the heartfelt.I write from the perspective of a man who’s seen a bit of everything, grateful for each day I’ve got, thanks to a mix of medical marvels and sheer stubbornness. So, pull up a chair and join me. There’s plenty to tell, and I’m glad you’re here to hear it.
